I purchased this item and it played fine until a few days ago when I was presented with a dialog box stating that playing the contents of the DVD was no longer possible unless and until I paid $59.99 for an upgrade. Very disappointing as I was really enjoying the lessons. There seems to be no way of playing or converting without forking out some money.
Fiddle Primer Deluxe For Beginners Is Perfect. The DVD is a big help in learning the Fiddle/violin. The CD sounds great. Easy to understand. Highly recommend Good price free ship. What more can you ask for.

Not what I thought it would be. I wanted something a little more easy as it's for a 89 yr old man that can't read music and plays guitar by ear.
A am a total beginner and found the book, CD, and DVD most helpful. 1) position of the fiddle, how to hold the bow, how to position hand and fingers holding the fiddle. Practice lessons are paced very well, each building upon previous material. Tuning the fiddle is covered, rosining and adjusting tension on the bow is covered.
